South West Travel Meet Up — officially launched

On Tuesday this week, some of the greatest minds in travel got together, shared a few drinks and stories. It’s been something we at 3Sixty have considered for the past 6 months, but it’s finally happened. Hopefully the first of many.

We have some incredible talent in the South West of England, with Bristol, Bath, Exeter all home to some really impressive businesses. Antarctica specialists, Swoop, boutique hotel agents I-escape, South-East Asia experts Inside Asia Tours as well as our local DMO, Destination Bristol, amongst many others.

The recipe was kept very simple. Good people, no presentations, plenty of drinks, and lots of good conversation. It’s refreshing in today’s business world to just chat. Nothing salesy, no formal presentations, no pitching, just plain simple, one to one discussions, over a delicious beer or crisp wine.

Thanks too to BarHumbug for agreeing to cater for the crowd and offering an exceptional service throughout.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank those who came along, the future success of these events hinged largely on a well attended and enjoyable first meet up. It’s something that feels so important for making connections, sharing experiences, providing reassurance that your challenges aren’t unique. It’s a no brainer and it will happen again. I’m just sorry it took so long to get this up and running. Funnily enough, it took a conversation in a pub with Senderos founder Simon Heyes, to finally kick start the initiative. It’s something that has run in the past, something that the travel sector community would look forward to, but for whatever reason, it’s fallen by the wayside. Well, consider it back!

Stay tuned, next time will be bigger and better. And if you missed out, but would like to be notified when we have our next event, please email my colleague yasmine@3sixty.co.uk or sign up for our newsletter at the end of our homepage: 3sixty.co.uk
